Initial Turbine Rating
The gas turbine engine course is required to be completed prior to completing an initial turbine rating.
Theory:
The gas turbine engine course comprises of a 1 day theory course on the turbine engine and systems.
A theoretical exam will be passed prior to completion of the course.
Flight Phase:
The specific flight hours required to obtain a rating in your first turbine helicopter will depend largely on your ability and experience. An expectation of approximately 3-5 flight hours should be anticipated.
The initial turbine rating can be conducted in the following helicopter types:
- Bell 206
- MD500
- AS350
