Low Level
Helicopters are designed to be operated at low level. Before any flight below 500 Feet, that is not in the course of taking off or landing, can be achieved not only legally but also safely, a low level rating must be completed.
Course:
The course will begin with a thorough briefing. This briefing will also include safe flying techniques to be used when operating in and around powerlines.
The course is a minimum of 5 hours of flight training. The following low flying procedure will be taught:
- Ground patterns
- S turns
- Figure 8 manoeuvres
- Into wind quick stops
- Out of wind quick stops
- Procedure turns
- Ag turns
- Torque and anti-torque turns
